Applications are invited from the eligible candidates to fill vacant posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDSs) [i.e. Branch Postmaster (BPM)/Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)/Dak Sevaks] in different offices of the Department of Posts. 3. APPLICATION FEE
- Fee: Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only)
- Exempted: All Female, SC/ST, PwBD and Transwomen applicants
- Mode: Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI
- Payment must be completed within 10 minutes of initiating
- Fee once paid will not be refunded

- Maximum Age: 40 years
- Age will be determined as on the last date of submission of applications

7. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Secondary School Examination (10th standard) pass certificate with passing marks in Mathematics and English from any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/Union Territories
- Candidates having equivalent qualification from any other board are not eligible
- Must have studied the local language at least up to 10th Standard (see Language column in vacancy table)
- Special local-language provisions apply for Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Sikkim and Nagaland
- Other qualifications: Knowledge of computers, knowledge of cycling, adequate means of livelihood
8. POSTS & JOB PROFILE
- Branch Postmaster (BPM): Day-to-day postal and IPPB operations of the Branch Post Office; must arrange accommodation for the BO at own cost and reside in the post village
- Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM): Sale of stamps/stationery, conveyance and delivery of mail, IPPB transactions, assisting BPM; must reside within BO delivery jurisdiction
- Dak Sevak: Mail handling/delivery in Post Offices, Sorting/Mail/Transit Mail Offices and Delivery Centres; must reside within delivery jurisdiction of the HO/SO
- Working hours: minimum 4 hours, maximum 5 hours a day; cannot be retained beyond 65 years of age
- GDSs are not regular Central Government employees

- No written exam – merit based on marks in 10th (SSE) aggregated to percentage accurate to 4 decimals
- Grades converted to marks using multiplication factor of 9.5 (CGPA × 9.5)
- Tie resolved by date of birth (older first) followed by the category/gender priority order in the notification
- Pre-engagement formalities include basic training of 3 days and arrangement of accommodation

13. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
- Only one registration per candidate; duplicate/multiple applications will be cancelled
- No documents to be uploaded except photograph and signature
- Mobile number and email ID cannot be modified under any circumstances
- Correction window allows changes to name, data, marks and choice filling (not mobile/email)
- Keep a DigiLocker account with marksheet/certificates fetched for verification
- Department does not make any phone calls to applicants
